How to send mail at the post office
(1) Asking about
postage
"Ikura desu ka" is "How much is it?" You can indicate the
destination of the mail with the particle "made".
Kanada made ikura desu ka.
カナダまでいくらですか。 |
How much does it cost to Canada? |
The
type of mail (air mail, sea mail etc.) also can be added with the particle "de".
Funabin de ikura desu ka.
船便でいくらですか。 |

Asking how long does it take
"Donogurai kakarimasu ka" is used when you want to find out how long
it takes for an item to be delivered.
Doitsu made donogurai
kakarimasu ka.
ドイツまでどのぐらい
かかりますか。 |
How long will it take
to Germany? |
Mikka gurai kakarimasu.
三日ぐらいかかります。 |
It will take for about three days. |
Isshuukan gurai kakarimasu.
一週間かかります。 |
It will take for about a week. |
Ikkagetsu gurai kakarimasu.
一ヶ月かかります。 |
It will take for about a month. |
