Word of the Day: Tokui

By May 6, 2013

Follow me on:

Today's word is "tokui (pride; triumph; one's forte)". It is usually written with a combination of two kanji characters "toku" and "i".

* Kare wa suugaku ga tokui da. 彼は数学が得意だ。 --- He is good at mathematics.
* Ano mise wa gaijin o otokui ni shiteiru. あの店は外人をお得意にしている。 --- The store is doing business with foreigners as regular customers.
* Chotto umaku itta kara to itte, tokui ni nattewa ikenai. ちょっとうまくいったからといって、得意になってはいけない。 --- Don't become smug over your small successes.

My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on a variety of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
