Today's word is "meirei (an order; a command; a direction)". It is written with a combination of two kanji characters "mei" and "rei". Here are some examples.
* Asu shuppatsu suru youni tono meirei ga deta. 明日出発するようにとの命令が出た。 --- Orders have gone out that we are to start tomorrow
* Watashi wa sou suru nowa iya da ga, meirei dakara shikataga nai. 私はそうするのはいやだが、命令だから仕方がない。--- I hate to do that, but an order is an order.
