The second Monday of January is a Japanese national holiday called, "Seijin no hi (Coming of Age Day)". It is a day to celebrate all the people who have reached the age of 20 over the past year. 1.22 million Japanese youth will become "shin-seijin (newly adult)" this year. Although "Seijin no hi" used to be on January 15th, it was moved to the second Monday of the month in 2000. Here are some articles related to Coming of Age Day on my site.
