Word of the Day: Shikata ga nai

Today's word is "shikata ga nai". The phrase is commonly used in conversation. It translates into, "It can't be helped." Here are some examples:

* Koukai shitatte shikata ga nai yo.  --- Regret does not mend the matter.
* Imasara okottatte shikata ga nai.  --- It is no use being angry after the event.
