By November 9, 2012

Follow me on:

In my article, "Dogs in Japanese Culture", which I posted the other day, I mentioned the famous Japanese dog "Hachiko." Today (November 10th - in local Japanese time), I noticed the Japanese Google logo design celebrates Hachiko's 90th anniversary. Please take a look at Google's logo, and also learn about the story of Hachiko. You can also check out the kanji character for "dog" at this link.

I had seen about the story of Hachiko video and all my tears fall down on my cheek.I feel so sorry for Hachiko and he came and waited for his master till he died.I think he didn`t believe that his master will come to the station one day.Love between human and pet dog tied very firmly.Sometime pet dogs gave his life for his master thus we called the most faithful friend.

Hi Namiko-san,

The real life of Hachiko is shrouded in mysteries and misunderstandings. Examining all the available documents on Hachi, a new book by Mayumi Itoh presents an accurate life of Hachi. It is available on Amazon now. The complete title is “Hachi: The Truth of the Life and Legend of the Most Famous Dog in Japan.” Enjoy!
