Word of the Day: Kikan

Follow me on:

Today's word is, "kikan (a period; a term)". It is written with a combination of the kanji characters for "ki" and "kan". "Choukiman" means "long term" and "tankikan" means "short term". "Yuukou kikan" is "a term of validity". Here are other phrases using the term "kikan": "Kikan ga sugiru (be overdue)", "kikan o enchou suru (extend the period)". I like the word "juuden kikan" which means "time to recharge yourself (relaxing or obtaining new skills) for the next step".
