It seems that every culture has lucky numbers and unlucky numbers. Seven appears to be a universally lucky or holy number. Find out how the number seven is used in the Japanese language.

    Thanks for this article, that was really interesting! Funny, that in Russian proverbs 7 represents ‘many’, like ’seven time measure, one time cut’. It seems a bit like Japanese 8, I guess?
    But we have no forbidden numbers:) Though we know about 13 is supposed to be unlucky, we don’t take it seriously. Do Japanese unlucky numbers are avoided because of their pronunciation only, or there is some kind of superstition indeed?
