    Thank you. How came that the meaning “strong” is in the word “study”? There is some reason or it’s just for its proununciation ( the sound “kyou”)?

    i was also wondering about the verb ‘to study’.
    in chinese, the characters 勉强 mean ‘unwillingly’. strange that it’s ‘to study’ in japanese
