Onigiri - Rice Balls

Follow me on:

Onigiri is made from plain white rice, formed into triangular or oval shapes and often wrapped in nori. Like many Japanese, I love onigiri. Onigiri is easy to make at home, and it is a popular item for lunch or a snack. When I was little, my mom used to make onigiri for my lunch box to have on school field trips. Onigiri can be found in any convenience or grocery store in Japan. I always get so excited to see all the various kinds of onigiri available when I go back to Japan. It is fun choosing one from such a wide selection.

By the way, I created another "Japan Quiz" this week, with the added feature of audio files. I hope you use them to test your listening skills. Your opinions or suggestions are always welcome.

I really enjoyed this quiz, and I want to try onigiri sometime.

I made some onigiri once or twice, but I wasn’t quite satisfied with the filling.
Do you perhaps have any tips for me?
