Tanabata

Sunday July 5, 2009
July 7th is Tanabata, Star Festival. People write their wishes on strips of a paper and hang them on leafy bamboo. They are quite pretty and are like summer Christmas trees.

Tanabata is such a cute holiday. I wish we had something like that in America.

Is that also the holiday where you throw beans, to get rid of the evil of the last year? And it’s about the star-crossed lovers? Or is that a different holiday?
@.@ It’s been so long since I’ve read-up on Tanabata.
