Asahiyama Zoo

Wednesday September 24, 2008
My mom recently visited Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido. She said that she enjoyed it very much. Asahiyama Zoo is the northernmost and one of the most popular zoos in Japan. It is known for its unique facilities where visitors can observe and interact with animals. Despite being a small country, Japan has many zoos. Some people might not agree with animals being kept in small cages. However, I do have good memories of visiting zoo's in my childhood. I think the way Asahiyama Zoo is designed is a great way to see animals in a more natural environment. I found interesting to read the comment, of the zoo's director, Masao Kosuge. He says, "I don't want to hear people saying, 'Kawaii! (Cute!)'; I want to hear them saying, 'Sugoi! (Amazing!)'.” Japanese translation

Here in Mexico exists African Safari; this is a wildlife park outside of Puebla.
You need to either drive through in your own car, or be given a guided tour (included in the admission price) on one of their school busses.
It is extended over 3,000 hectares and separated into different sections to provide home to 3,000 animals from 250 species.
If you like wildlife parks, this is a very nice one

I think I can get it now.
I will not say “kawaii” but “Sugoi” when I meet those animals in Zoo anymore.

It’s cool “Maurishio” mentioned African Safari in Puebla, I went there in 2002 when I was in Mexico, I loved it! I was also at the Toba Aquerium when I stayed in Mie, lots of fun and amazing animals on display. Lastly I went to the Ueno zoo in Tokyo, lot’s of people saying “Kawaii” there.
